Current Office Holder - Andrew Healey:
I was born and raised in the City of Schenectady. I attended the Schenectady City School District graduating from Schenectady High School. I was a member of the Schenectady High School 1998 New York State Championship Basketball Team. I continued my basketball career and education at SUNY Potsdam earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. From there, I continued my education, earning my law degree from Albany Law School and began my legal career as a private practice attorney in the city of Schenectady. My wife, Rachael, and I live in Schenectady. We are proud parents of our three-year-old daughter, Abigail, and one-year-old son, Austin. I have striven to make our community a great place to live and raise a family. This is the community that I was born and raised in. Schenectady is where I will raise my family.
I am the President of the Board of Directors for the Center for Community Justice and believe in its core mission over the last 50 years: "To assist community members by providing programming and services through community-based remedies in the pursuit of peaceful resolutions, accountability and justice."
This core mission is why I joined the board of directors, and why I bridged the court system, Legal Hand, Inc. and the Center for Community Justice in order to provide a call-in based service that allows residents in the Capital Region the ability to have questions answered and directs them to the services and organizations which can assist them in their times of need. This is a service which was lacking in the area and has been a great benefit to the community.
